No.. they was original markings on the block. I did fill it RIGHT to the brim.. so im guessing thats why it filled up the chambers.. next time i wont fill it all the way up.

Ok back on topic.. ive done a little test.. i filled the well right up again this morning.. and as u can see from the pic.. the chamber is wet.. but not overflowing.. or flooded.. so i think i should be ok now.. what do you guys think ???

it is very wet, but it looks like it should be ok, the water will soak up fast enough.....the main thing you have to be carefull of is flooding, but remeber that flooding for an ant is a whole diffrent story, even a drop of water can drown Lasius Niger, let alone the Larva

i agree with you on the bit too wet thing.. as i said it was just a test.. i now know for sure.. NOT to fill it right up.. ever again

ok im making the hole to connect the ytong to a tube so the ants can get to the basin... However the fitst one i made was to close to the wall.. now ive made a new one.. how can i seal up the first one??? Would sealent work ok?? or do u guys know of somat else ??

Plastercine is great for sealling up wholes in Ytong, or even Melted Candle Wax (however only for european species, as the warmth needed for tropical ants will melt it)

Ore maybe you can use some silicone. I use it to stick my glass (plexi) to the y-tong and that works fine.

yeah Silicone is better, but its expensive if you just need a little bit, make sure you go for Aquarium safe silicon aswell if u do Steve

Pet shop....in a building center you can get silicon too, but there is the risk that the silicon is poisoned....

Ok now got the sealant and have sealed my glass on and the tube that im gonna be connecting to the basin and what not
