Was a "handle carefully - glass inside" label or something like that on the box?
I hope she will start laying eggs Skippy. Want to see a report of this ant ;)

But my Diacamma rugosum arrived me last Friday. And until yet they dont lay any eggs. Maybe ist from the stress (I hope so)....

When it was written in German, it should like this "Vorsicht - Glas" or "Vorsicht zerbrechlich"...

Then more luck with your weaver ants. Im sure you buy Polyrhachis. But what sub family? illaudata? wolfi? dives? Give me (us) more information ^^

Wow. 250-500 ..... what basin do you have? I believe you need two....or in a few weeks a second basin ;)
Because Antstore send (from Polyrhachis dives) in most times more ants as ordered. I could read it in the comments. And i had a Polyrhachis dives colony from Antstore last year.

If I were you I would complain at the post office. It´s them who should pay for the damage and not Kalyta. It´s really not his fault if the bastards are throwing stuff around when they should really be handeling it with care. :?

The problem is that public postal systems say that it is the posters responsibility to insure that a package is strong enough to survive postage

I'm afraid I dont think the package was anywhere near strong enough, a polystirine box, to me, is a slightly odd thing to use, as they are very fragile

I already suggested to Gerhard that he seek compensation from the German mail carrier for the damage, its unlikly he will get it tho

it really is the responsability of the person sending something to insure that it will arrive safley, unless you use a Courier, which is a better option, as they actually look after things!
