Steve, the ant jelly at the top of this post is the stuff i use to feed new queens

i've noticed tho that only some of the colonies that have come from the queens like it, which is strange, coz the Queens love it (however you can buy it from pet shops in the UK, find a good reptile pet shop and look for the Reptile Protien Jellys)
worht getting tho
I use a mixture of diffrent insects, thats the key, a varied diet, because there are a miriad of diffrent things ants need to grow healthly, amino acids, protiens, vitamins, fats etc
I feed my ants...
Ant Jelly
Locusts
Crickets
Spiders
Moths (not the ones with allot of fur on the body, ants dont like them)
meal worms (not giant ones, they have been given growth hormones!!)
beetles
Once i have killed the insect in boiling water, i dust them with powdered fish flakes, for extra vitamins
and of course Honey, Nector (expensive tho) and Sugar water (i use Fructose to make sugar water)
