which of these species you like better: Camponotus ligniperda or Camponotus herculeanus and why?
i will get one of these is spring so i want know what you think.

I like the ligniperda more than the herculeanus because of the color. I find the black/red of the ligniperda more

i like Camponotus ligniperda da best cos of colour, and that's it really lol i dont know to much on these species yet as i still yet have to keep them and both species are very simerlier....so

hercluleanus are very slow to grow, but they have the color still, workers are red and black although not as vibrant as ligni

Herculeanus are black and red, too? Dont know that. I only see the pics in the Antstore shop. And there the ants are only black.

Herculeanus do have some very dull red on them, but it is only noticeable if you look closely in bright light. Personaly i would go for ligniperda because the red bright and clear, i think they are larger too.

yes they do, i keep them and you dont need that bright a light on them, i'm sure it varies slightly between colonies, but they all have at least a slight red tinge to them

they are a slow growing species tho, u need alot of patience lol

how much patience because i dont have much, lol i much prefer species that have there devlopment not to slow, but resemly fast!

my Ligniperda seem to be more quicker to develop than Herc*,

I can see the difference between them by the Queens. Hercu** has shorter legs than the Ligniperda's Queen i think

ok now im starting to want to get lingerperda, they seem like quite a good species to have but in my room i have worked it out only about 3 species i could keep max and im only aloud ants in my room. i hope when im older i can have more ant species but thats still quite a time away to wait untill i move out i mean. im well unlucky
