the problem is it is very difficult to tell the diffrence between the queen and the larger majors, i found another 2 smaller workers alive earlier, but since then all 3 of smaller workers have died
I now have 2 majors, one is possibly the Queen, however i've found a few dead ants that are larger than both the ants that are left, so its unlikly that one of the live ants is the queen
they've been in hibernation for a month already, so i've no choice but to bring them out and cross my fingers...heres hopeing!
Although this is a bit of a non-starter, its reaffirmed my love for Cataglyphis, they are really beautiful ants, and certainly look like they could cause a problem for someone who might try to poke around in their nest! lol their mandibles are are very big, with a very serated edge that looks razor sharp
