The Ant Farm Message Board is way too strict. Antdude is pretty ruthless which makes the forum humorless and pretty boring. I feel bad for the newbies who join there -- they get such poor treatment for just asking questions. I found this site a few days ago and I like it much better. Very Happy

Could you back that up with something? Besides a few spelling critiques and a Welcome to the Board he doesn't post much else.

LOL, MILTA I can think of 1 time recently when we were arguing over importing ants, well it would look like arguing, but it was really Civilized bickering.

Ohh alright then.

I've been finding Tetramorium (species E.) queens in my dog's kid pool each morning. It's more convenient for me because flights happen at 1am.
Pheidole and Temnothorax have started flying here too but at a more convenient hour, 9 and 10pm.

I won't go there. Cause that might lead to an argument. And this is the friendly forum. I left all the arguing at the Ant Farm. :)

I guess i just dont see how the ant board is really all that bad, sure its not as flashy as other boards, but its got all you could ever ask for regular mycologists, a great photographer, i mean and some of the greatest myrm-a-hobbiests i know. The only time we get "upset" or argue, is when newbies ask the same ridiculous questions when we make Plenty of posts on how to catch queens and what would be the best ant set up, and even have a FAQ for the noobs! I know I have NEVER been in an argument in the year I've posted.

No need to make this public then, feel free to message me at any time.

I hope you don't feel you've been mistreated though, due to a misunderstanding. When reading things people have written it's so much easier to assume they are being rude and sarcastic.

Hmmm much people from the USA lately. ;) Welcome to you all.
I know there is a lot we can learn from each otter and sometimes it is in deed unpleasant if people ask the same question 10 times, but we all where newbies on this so don't be to hard on them.
This is a nice (friendly) forum and we all want to keep it this way. If there where problems in the past leave them there. ;)
That is all i have to say about that.

Happy ant keeping to you all.

So is the Ant Farm.

It gets so hot here I sometimes wonder if the queens aren't landing in pools on purpose.

Wow, WAY too tense in there - A lot of arguing and conflict.

I am still skimming out Queen ants from my pool - most don't make it but a save a couple dozen each day when I come home from work.

Thats the internet for you all about the community. Try out Hyperlinks sind nur für registrierte Nutzer sichtbar they don't really have any rules and every high level which is most pick on the ones but they still have over 2 million members. Also it's about everything.

Hi Pugberto and welcome,

That is one big forum. ;) This forum is 'only' for people who keep ants are want some information about it. I don't think you can compare it with newgrounds. ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome. I was mostly just comparing the the communities attitudes to newbies, but yeah they do discuss a wider variety of subjects but I'm sure if that in the search box you'll find something about ants.
