I put some Lasius niger cocoons In to my Lasius flavus and one has hatched yesterday and its half the size as a lasius flavus but I hear they start small if the colony is not big ? And its like helping them out

lol im going to collect some more cocoons off any species i come across or any brood lol

I think they are too far away in relation. They are in different subfamily. But you can try it if you want. Maybe it works for you...

I managed to put a Tetramorium worker to my Messor structor. But they are both in the Myrmicinae subfamily.

I put the cocoons not the worker if I put a worker in the [highlight=red]L[/highlight]asius flavus just kill it lol

hi all
i had my own little experiment when boosting colonies brood i gave my formica fusca some Lasius niger brood and a couple days ago one hatched and is a third of the size of the formica fusca workers

I dont know I guess just experimenting or maybe [highlight=red]M[/highlight]yrmica rubra eggs/larvae/pupae could be there defense if i get any lol because they have a powerful sting...

I once put formica cocoon to Camponotus queen and it didn´t work. The queen didn´t take care of it so it died away.
