This in becoming a complex discussion. But i like it.
Workers can lay eggs but like there is already said they are not fertilized so there will be not worker coming out of it maybe a male.
In my experience it is not possible to mate that male. Workers are not made to mate.
If the queen is dead maybe it is just better to start up with a new colony.

Ok and heres another question:

Do ants eat maggots like instead im going to buy them some maggots from the fishing store and give them some to eat Do they eat them or dont you know? and is sugar water just a bit off sugar added with water?

yes they will eat them, but maybe it is better to kill them first (if you have a small colony).

I have I think around 20 workers but they are Myrmica rubra so more aggressive and stronger:P

One more question lol will the larvae/eggs/pupae evolve if I feed them sugar only or do I need to feed insects aswell? I have no insects atm to feed them thats why im feeding them little bits off sugar

If there are larva you need to feed them insects. Capture some form you backyard.

would wood lice be good ? or dont they eat them because I see them mixed with colonies off ants

hmm. other ants is not such a good idea. they could fight and maybe your workers get hurt ore killed. Wood lice could work, you need to find out yourself what your ants like.

lol ok I sometimes have fed them some lasius niger and they own them lol 1v1 rubra wins 2v1 lasius niger wins:P

... and what was the meaning of that ? I keep ants and i try to give them a good home (they are already in captivities). It is not the meaning to let them fight little wars against each other.
But this said, now you now you don't need to do that again. So you learn from you mistakes.
