I using bricks too ,normally I buy 35x25x8 cm brick ,It can be cost (I typping) 0,5 dollars. I engrave to it with sharped item ,it is not hard work. One day and making of formicarium finished.

I sold this colony (these bigger colony) ,so You cannot see more photos ,only latest on my page and photos by new queen. Sorry to tell that ,no more nice photos
After exhausting every possible concrete supplier here - I can tell you that you can't buy this material in the US. I have looked up a few ways to duplicate this with pretty good results.
I used a ratio of 50% Plaster of Paris and 50% Perlite.
Makes a nice light weight material and holds water REALLY nice : )
Easy to cut as well.
I'll let you know how they like it as soon as I can get some time.
