ok sith... think with me here... Try to use some brain. You plan to boost your colony which right now has about 12 workers by using pupas of some other Lasius colony from nature. Now lets say that it is end of March and that you put your colony somewhere warm so they are out of hibernation. So the queen starts laying eggs and all the workers take care of them. I think it is safe to presume that ants in nature do the same at the same time. So by the time you'll be able to find any pupas in nature you will already have lots of your own. And I think it is more likely that you will put your ants out of hibernation before this will happen in nature. So you will have a bit of advantage. Is it worh to boost? I think you are a bit to late for that... and once you have more than 10 workers it is not worth it.
