Hello

I want to buy a colony of ants Atta sexdens or Cephalotes. I think to buy the colony before September, I just want to have some more information about it.

- Do you guarantee the colony in France? I do not want to expend 150 euros (without equipment), a colony if i'm not sure they come in alive.

- Do you have good ways to make survive the fungus during the transport?

Hello Pierre,
thanks for you question. We only ship leaf cutter ants within Germany. Shipping outside of Germany is at the customers own risk, so we can not give you a guarantee that the ants survive the transport. However, prior customers from france have importet our leaf cutter ants by asking people that car-share (from berlin to france), if they could pick the ants up at our company and then drop them off in your city. This method of transport must be organized by the customer, and not by our company.

French Southern Territories are not in mainland France, but in the southern Indian Ocean. The islands are not that far from Antarctia. Not easy to go there by car.

Maybe it would even be difficult for you in that area to collect enough green leaves for the ants, depending on which of the islands you are living.

However, I am somewhat bewildered: In your profile you say that you are living in 67600 Germany, whereas with your posts the flag of “tf”, French Southern Terrirories, is indicated.

I'm French, i live in Alsace ( 67600 ), in france, not in southern Indian Ocean ( error on my part ).

- I have send this questions for know if i can have a garantit in France, ( by Antstore ).

- In 2009 i had already a Atta sexdens colony yes, but they dead after 4-5 month, ( with 1300+ workers ). ( I had begins with 500 workers ).
After that, i had stop the ants... my dream was fell to water... But i want to have a second chance, and begin a new colony of this species.

I wanted to know, is it true that the Queen becomes sterile, from 28 degrees?

Queen becomes sterile over 30c from my experience, not 28c mate. I would always try to keep them below 27c to be honest.
