Ok so I probably already know the answer but can I merge a colony of 30 Myrmica rubra and a 1000 strong colony of Myrmica rubra?

My guess would be a no. Am I right? Would love to if I could though. Please let me know

You cant merge so many ants together. But you can get brood and put them together. The ants will think that is their brood.
