ANTSTORE World of Ants

My Lasius niger ants are escaping from 10x10x20 cm Farm Basin. The lid is not secure but ants can escape between the lid and the glass. I would need something to fix it up. Only that Antstore does not seem to ship even small items in an envelope via normal mail and with moderate shipping costs. If one wants to order sealing tape only, 33 € is charged for shipping. Not good!

I use paraffin oil that you should be able to buy at any pharmacy. I make a 1cm wide film on top edge of the basin on until I fix the hole

I use Grease the type used for lubricating cars etc axle grease i think its called , its yellowish and creamy consistency , it works wonders put some in a large syringe and squirt a small line of it around the rim of the foraging areas and this will keep the ants from wondering

I've heard mixing alchohol (70 %) with talcum powder ( baby powder) in a 3:1 (alchohol:powder) ratio and applying it to the walls with a brush is good
