Here are some new pics to show I'm still alive. I'm afraid I only have the Acromyrmex octospinosus, Pheidole pallidula and a very small Lasius sp. colony in my ant collection at the moment.
Pheidole pallidula seem to be an odd species difficulty wise. My first colony turned up with a dead queen, my second colony dwindled and died in a couple of months. My third colony, with hardly any effort from me, went from a few workers to several thousand workers on no time at all and its still going strong with minimal attention from me.
lol, you moderators don't have a lot of work on your hands do you

The Pheidole are in a large glass fish tank filled with sand/soil/vermiculite mix. They are kept at about 20-23*C, but with a little heat mat on the side set to 28ish where they can incubate their brood.
