Ive noticed this three times now in different colonies ive had. If the food or space becomes sparce and not enough to sustain the whole colony, (at least from what i can observe, but that is however an assumption) ive noticed a sudden increase in 'peices' of workers left around the formicarium. I sometimes notice whole workers being thrown into the water moat around the area by [M Rubra]*Myrmica rubra, and then other times i find many many heads, thoraxes and gasters in piles around the area as though they've had a massive cull possibly because a lack of space or food etc. This doesnt seem to be the natural way of disposing of bodies or the normal death rate, it seems to be a spike...

Has anyone else had this?

I think workers are being eaten when I've experienced this, so maybe try feeding more and see if that helps
