Hey Guys,

I came home yesterday to find that the queen had died. I don't really understand how or why. I wanted to ask you guys what you think I should do with the 20 or so workers I have remaining. I am very disappointed...

Its your thing to decide what to do. The workers will care for them self as long as they live. But they dont have any purpose. If they are still active in the basin and u want to watch them u can let them die out.

Wich ant species was it?
Do you keep them in a YTONG or basin...?
How was the humdity?
What did you feed them?
How high was the temperature?

She was a Camp. Ligneperda queen, I've had her just over a year. I was considering letting the workers go outside? I'm gutted, its a real shame. Don't think I'm going to try again straight away.

The colony of 20 ants and the queen had taken up residence in a piece of tubing by their own choice. Humidty was fine for the species and the colony was kept at room temp. They lived on a diet of fruit and various fodder with water always available. I can't see a reason why she died, maybe its just one of those things.
