ANTSTORE World of Ants

I just got some ant queens with a couple larvae. I know they should be kept undisturbed in the dark, but I wanted to keep an eye on them. I set up a night vision camera in a box for them, and I was wondering if anyone knew if ants could see infrared? The ants are Mymecocystus mimicus, if that's important. Thanks.

I doubt it, tends to be ultraviolet light that bugs see, infra red is basically heat vision, snakes and lizards see in infrared to hunt their prey.

Only snakes with heat receptors like pythons can see infrared. Lizards don't and most snakes don't.
I don't think ants can see infrared.

I read somewhere that they don't see it largely but they can see it dimly!

The red and infra-red part of the spectrum is what the ants gave up to see ultraviolet light, as far as I've read. But solid quotations on this would be nice, since I don't have any handy.
