Can anybody give me in detail care tips for Camponotus floridanus. These ant's are native to florida so I guess any camponotus info will do. My setup is simple. a dental plaster nest and a foraging are connected by a tube.
I aquired a queen and about 3 workers and alot of brood. They were in a small decaying tree stump, hybernating so it was very easy to get them.
Right now they are in a test tube with water and a cotton ball blocking water and another cotton ball at entrance. Please help with any DETAILED info thank you.

Well to start with if you got them in Florida then they was not hibernating.. Ants in the US do NOT hibernate.. its to warm... and by the sounds of it ur setup sounds all good... Just feed them some dead insects and some honey water and im sure they will be fine.

@ Steve: i need to correct you on this, in some places in the USA it gets really cold in winter time and most species living in the USA do hibernate.
(not sure about this species)

Like you can see they like to live in wood but you can keep them also in a plaster nest.
Feed them insects and sweets (honey ore sugar water), like Steve said.
