Hi guys. I just woke my Camponotus cruentatus queen from hibernation. She had 5 larvas. The water tank in the test tube was almost empty, so I pour some water in there. After five minutes i see that she is carying the larvas to the other side of the test tube, because water got thrue the cotton. I took the test tube and gently shake the queen and her brood on sand (test tube was on sand in plastic tank). I fixed the leak and dry the test tube and put it back in the tank. After 24 hours queen still does't want to go back in there and she didnt pick her brood too.

What should I do?

Don't panic, the queen will move when she wants. Advice for the future, I wouldn't shake the queen out of the tube. Instead put the tube in a basin and offer another tube with a reservoir in it. She will happily move herself if she wants. This way you keep the stress levels down and lower the risk of loosing her.

Thx for the advice, but I didn't have time to do that, because her brood was drowning. Why she doesn't want to pick her brood?
