kfir: Do you ship to the U.S.? (and other questions) (28. Nov 2005 18:13)

Hello,

1. Do you ship to the U.S.?

2. If yes, how long does it take for the order to leave your facility?

3. Do you accept paypal for payment?

4. Can you tell me which ant colony has the LARGEST ants for a reasonable price?

Thanks!

Hello kfir,

welcome here in the forum.

We don' t supply ants to the USA! This is also forbidden! It's not possible!

Greetings

Darn... didn't know it was illegal.

I'm trying to build an ant farm with LARGE ants. Where can I get such ants in the USA?

Thanks.

What about formicaries and other supplies? I'm especially interested in the gel media, which is not readily available in the US. Is the new dry media the same formulation as the liquid?

uta: (14. Aug 2006 15:29)

Yes, it's the same - you must give only clear water to this dry material.
But we delivery not to USA.

greetings

I understand why you cant ship live ants due to the current laws in the USA.. But what about the starter sets such as the ANTSTORE Starter Set - acrylfarm/arena?

As far as i know at least from my 3 weeks of searching online There are no other farms like these availble in the USA right now...

This is what im primarly intrested in to start with... theres no point in capturing a queen if i dont have a habitat to put it in.

I can understand it would be hard to ship the glass habitats, I do a lot of exotic marine life keeping and in fact I avoid shipping glass of any kind, Acrylic if a diffrent story.

So any of the starter sets can be sold and shipped to the USA?

They might ship that to the US, but shipping and customs can be pretty expensive, to the point where it is better to just build the setup yourself.

I never shipped stuff overseas, though. Maybe uta can tell you the exact details for shipping.

Thats not all ways entirely true... thats why i want to find out if they do as well as price... See different types of acrylic are more expensive than others... They are assembling these farms with experience and have methods that work so not only are they buying large Quantity's of materials making it cheaper to build but also have a proven process. This alone begs to ask the question is it worth the extra money and how much extra?
