badman: what could this bug be? (sorry no pic, description only) (16. Mär 2008 23:23)

I've seen this small bug in my house on a couple of occasions, it is very small, approx. 1mm, pale brown/beige colour. It has no wings, and doesn't jump, it's legs are very small and are hardly visible. It has a segmented body much the same as an ant, but no antennae. Really it just looks like a tiny slow moving ant with no antennae.

I thought it might be some kind of louse or bed bug so I destroyed it on both occasions, but after looking at pictures of bed bugs, it clearly lacks the shell.

I'm in manchester. i don't think it was a termite or a beetle, it had a body shape the same as that of an ant. Head, thorax and gaster, although these were just like 3 tiny circles joined together with no trunk

There are a lot of bugs in the world, really hard to say without a picture (even with a picture its sometimes hard ;) ).
