Hi Jimmy.
Is use my Kyocera Finecam SL300R (3,2 Megapixel, 3x zoom lens, f=5.8 - 17.4mm ..... i dont knwo what the last thing say but i write everything down displayed on my digital cam).

She is al little bit older and the pictures are sometimes.......bad
But when you try it a few times then she makes photos. Not the best but she makes some

You can see some photos from me here if you want.

Sure. When you have to zoom in for a little ant i have to switch to another. But im not an.....uhm.....i dont know the english word :D (für Deutsche: Profipotograph)

nice pictures, I have a medion 6.0 megapixels and a 6x zoom, the pictures are the same like yours but when i want to take a picture of an ant Like Santa Claus the camera is not good enough. :(

Purifier: (5. Dez 2006 21:29)

Yeah. I think if i have to zoom in for a single ant my camera loose, too.....

But is say to me: good pictures where you can see what you want to show or present others is better than no picture. Like an proverb say: "better THAT than nothing" (i hope the sense is the same like in german  )

Hi guys,

I don't want to insult anybody, but your photos are horrible! No close ups, they are blury and unclear... My photos are the same. Becuase I too use small camera with insuficent lense for shooting ants.

What you need for a good photo is a DSLR camera with a macro lense. With 100 - 200 mm for a nice close up. The problem is that you probably need about +2000 € for buying lower medium quality equipment.

Hmm....i find my pictures (ok the pictures from the Nest is unclear) ok. I cannot make close up pictures but thats ok. Im not an big photograph....

Hi,

I´ve got a Canon DSLR, a EOS 30D with a Canon EF-S 60mm Makro, this combination is good to take Makro´s i think you can by this for about 1300-1400€

a good compact cam for macros is the Rico R5, its around 270€.

i took all of my macros (http://www.heldhome.de/ants) with a DSLR. you have to spend at least 1000€ for a DSLR +lens to make good macros.

greetings

The pictures are REALLY good!
I think i can youst dream oft pictures like this, because i dont want to buy me a new digicam only for macrophotos.....
Especially not for over 1000€

mpir: (6. Dez 2006 13:39)

@ Summiter

I'm not sure where did you buy the camera you mentioned so cheep. Canon Eos 30D costs from 1200 to 1400 € and the Canon EF-S 60mm Makro lense is around 400 €.

Maybe I should look some foregin shoops too. I'm sure I could found lower prices but I don't think the price would be lower than 1400 €. :?

@purifier

Look at some really nice photos on this forum then you will know what I think is a good photo. :D
