Hallo rosswilson!
I hope you know that Lasius niger is a monogynous Ant?!?
When the first Ants will apear, they´ll definitely KILL all but one Queen, so that those colonies with more than one Queen do have only ONE in about 1,5 months... So you see, that NOONE will buy a colony with 100 Q´s for 200Pounds.. You get 2 Euro for each of the tubes from me... ](*,)

Greetings, Cephalothorax

Then its definitely not Lasius Niger, or you think they are queens but are not queens.
Lasius Niger is monogyn just like Cephalothorax already told you.

I feel sorry for the poor guy (or girl) who buys the ants from you, he or she will end up with probably just a few queens (1 in each tube) for a lot of money

its definitely possible that he saw Lasius, they often start their colony under Pleometrose.

but they will fight each other till only one queen left. when they are locked up in glass, they will kill each other.

hey im in london only 13 age could i buy 2 off u 10 pound?

LeonofLondon: (26. Sep 2005 18:09)

man you wont get a polygenus Lasius niger your probably getting confused with a servi formica species Formica fusca or Formica lemani depending on if you live in the north or the south they look simaler to lasius niger but are larger and jet black and they also have magor workers which could be mistaken for a queen.

They look like Lasius niger to me. They do sometimes start colonies together, but the queens rarely fight each other. However, once you have about 10 or more workers hatch the workers start killing the queens (they hold them down and basically bite them to death) so you will only end up with one queen in the end.
