Hi Redant408 and welcome.

Nice to hear that there are such nice ants there. ;)

Ive recently found a great website with lots of info and pictures of ants in the southeast, listed by state. For anyone in the southeast, its a great way to browse and get info about native ant species in your area. Check it out: http://www.msstate.edu/org/mississippientmuseum/Researchtaxapages/Formicidaepages/Ant.faunal.lists.htm

:badboys: wan´t interested in ants already in my 7, when I was in Georgia and Florida :sad05: [-(

Check this out: Odontomachus ruginodis aka 'the snapping ant'. They can actually project themselves into the air by snapping their jaws... very cool :D

Purifier: (23. Nov 2007 14:25)

Yeah. The movement of the jaws is the fastest movement in the whole nature....

JimmyVe: (23. Nov 2007 16:07)

in deed, i already saw some really nice documentary about them. (sorry no links of it, but look at the link from CapitalO ;) )

They have been introduced to the southeast, near to where I live. This would be a cool ant to keep in my new formicarium :)

JimmyVe: (24. Nov 2007 18:07)

that would be a very nice ant to keep, hope you find some. ;)
