I have 3 lasius emarginatus queens, in three different tubes...
All queens have starting laying eggs at the same time.....15 days ago.... One queen hold the eggs as a pile other two queens scattered the eggs... or sometimes makes two different groups of eggs.....
someone know why this happens?
thanks....
cheers...
My queens (L.niger) do the same, two have just got a pile of eggs while another has devided them into to groups. I've had the eggs for about a week and the queen which devided her eggs was the first to lay (by a day).
I don't think there is a real explanation for it. They just do what they think is the best for the eggs.
Do you know if they keep the eggs moist? They look sticky! If so how?
