Hi all first of all sorry for my bad english.... I have 3 lasius emarginatus not winged queen catched fresh by 10 july of this year, they lay eggs one-two day after catched, today there are good pile of eggs but no one becomes larvas....

what is the best temperature for speed up the grow eggs process?

Now they are in a room where the temperature is costant on 23°c, maybe its too low? this can slowly the eggs to first worker process?

The ideal temperature is ca. 30°, in which the entire development from egg to worker last ca. 30 days. But 23° is also okay, they will need only more time. I think you should have some larvae next week.

30 is to high, 26-27 would be idea i think.

if you are going to keep the nest heated, you must provide a cooler area aswell, one section at room tempreture, and one @ 26-27 would b ideal, then the brood can be moved around as the workers feel they need to be, and the queen can remain at a cooler temp, as they like to be deep inside the nest

bear in mind that underground, is much cooler than in the sun, some species actually prefer to stay cooler, for eg my Pachycondyla apicalis like to stay at 21-24C, and avoid the heated parts (@26-27C) of the nest completly

yer miszt answer is the best, they need to be able to move to cooler sections so they can choose what is best for them.

If she is in a tube there is no cooler place for her to go to FredeP. In nature it is not always 24/7 30°c. If you know what i mean.

I have made an experiment I place my 3 lasius emarginatus queens in a room where there are 27c° >30°c I dont know if it depends by temperature but one queen dies after one day....
