I just feed mine leftover veg, carrot/potato peel/lettuice etc. Keeps them fed & also the vitamins & minerals they get from the veg will be given to the ants when they in turn get eaten 8). And give the tubs a quick spray of water every now & then, seems to work fine for me.

I don't keep them alive at all. ;) I boil them for a few seconds, let them cool off and then put them in the freezer. ;) If i need them i just defrost them and give them to my ants.

OMG! I just fed my ants 2 mealworms and 1 cricket.

It was crazy my rubra are so aggressive there still swarmin it now :(
I feel so guilty now lol (They where all alive) :(
Did i do the right thing or next time should i kill them then feed um to the rubra?

Thanks

Alex

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's quite obvious you didnt do it to be cruel.

But yea like JimmyVe i also boil mine first. Its better to boil them for a few seconds mainly to make sure you kill off any disease or parasites the crickets/mealworms might have. Dont forget to let them cool for a while before feeding them tho :) .
