right i'm being a bit dense here but i need some help. I'm constructing a Ytong nest for my new colony and i need help. What materials do i need? Where can i get them from? I have seen some pictures and know what i want to do but what is the nest area made of? what do i use to cut out the chambers? as much information as you can give me would be great. I'm getting a heat mat on monday too.

I am currently making a ytong nest right now.
Chambers and Legs and Tunnels are cut out using a Dremel with a high speed cutter tool and/or a chisel or screwdriver.

I also use a good hand fan for blowing away dust.

You can get ytong(Aerated concrete) from a DIY store like B&Q or
Wickes(click here)

Also perspex or Glass you can get from DIY store again

and a aquatic sealant for sticking the perspex down to the ytong

I myself use a wood chisel to cut my chambers and a large bolt to square the sides off.. next time i make one il do a pic how to.. There is a guide on how to make a Ytong here tho.. Just do a search.
