I had my computer translate the guide in the ant store shop. this guide contains info reguarding the rating system the site gives ants (the Hazard Class and Difficulty Class). I had my computer translate it. it is not perfect and a few words were not translated. the translation is listed below. Remember this is an unedited translation by the computer so misteaks are possible. post replys and tell me if this was helpful!
All kinds were sorted according to 3 groups of criteria: Attitude classes 1.2.3 risk classes 1.2.3.4 quality class 1,2,3 The attitude classes refer to the degree of difficulty for the realization of the kind-fair and optimal living conditions for the Pfleglinge.
Attitude class 1 = easy attitude, wash and wear, durable kind of ant. For the still inexperienced owner in the best way suitably. This does not mean that the respective kind is boring!
Attitude class 2 = more complex, more complex attitude (e.g. Air humidity, temperature and fodder must be proportioned correctly). Previous knowledge of the insect attitude should be present.
Attitude class 3 = only for the professional suitably, these kinds of ant are sensitive in relation to climatic changes, lack of fodder and other factors. The risk classes refer to the risk for the native ecological system.
Risk class 1 = ants of this risk class are widespread in Europe. Referring to an endangerment of European ecological systems are not present. These kinds of ant can be classified therefore as harmless. They are available for everyone without age delimitation.
Risk class 2 = ants of this risk class are exotic kinds. Due to their special requirements in terms of their Habitat and/or. their high temperature sensitivity or due to other scientific realizations, is to be excluded an establishment into European ecological systems. A sales takes place only against signature of the newspaper „warning references of exotic kinds “by persons of age (with persons under age of them educate-entitled).
Risk class 3 = are kinds of ant without referring to a concrete Gefährdungspotenzial for European ecological systems. However an establishment is potentially conceivable in European ecological systems due to the respective requirements to the Habitat, although also very improbable. Furthermore also indefinite kinds of harmless kinds are classified here. Sales only against signature of persons of age (or with persons under age of them educate-entitled) that them over a possible risk was cleared up, and us it insure to provide for a outbreak-safe Verwahrung of the ants.
Risk class 4 = concrete ones of referring to establishment by bringing in or settlement in European or comparable ecological systems is present. Kinds with unclear (e.g. indefinite Pheidole kinds) or probable Gefährdungspotenzial are likewise classified under this class. These kinds of ant are sold only on request at universitäre institutes and research establishments. Institut must guarantee us security in writing.
Edited version: RKl1 for all; RKl2-3 only against signature, RKl4 only to institutes On dangers e.g. by passes or bites becomes in the respective description of the kind (under danger:) referred to. A detailed description to risks with Exoten as well as the forms are to be found under Download and must before the distribution send itself (by fax or by post office). For differentiating biological risks, as well as determining certain kinds of ant we have a new coworker, Dr. Langstein, in the team.
Quality class 1 = colonies with warranty we guaranteeing that the queen was begattet and is thus reprodutive. If only male sex animals should form, receive from us to replacement or the colony price back. We examined Endweder that from the brood new generation developed or we to know that some young queens (like e.g. Lasius the Niger) equal as QK1 to be offered can, since the wear and loss rate is well below 0,1%. With the QK 1 you have three months time (starting from delivery date) the “warranty of the QK1” to lodge a complaint.
Quality class 2 = colonies without warranty. Since examining/observing these colonies can last to the QK1 up to 3 months, we offer prematurely some colonies somewhat more favorably. These are then offered as QK 2. Since we do not examine them
Attitude class 1 = easy attitude, wash and wear, durable kind of ant.
lol, great translation. I miss the hint, that you should not wash your ants at more than 40°C.
I guess the translation of "haltung" is a bit misleading.. it can be translated with attitude. But here keeping would be the correct word. Maybe you can replace this ...
hehe, still a great translation ... don't iron your ants!
whoops! all i read was the risk class 3 section. like i said though, it is unedited because i am afraid if i edit it, i could get in trouble with the site for something like rewording a section in a way which may make it possible for a coustomer to interperate their ratings differently and that would not be good.
If i find the time i will take a good look at it and use it. Thanks.
