Ive got a colony of about 70 ants but there would be more but ive given a few away for friends and to school. My question is my ants are setteled in apart from they haven't moved from the tube but now i think they are for about a week now a see about 5 ants with a few a coons in the formicary just wondering around is this show they are slowly moving. the queen and most of the ants and brood are still in the tube thow.

lasius niger it could it be to do with the tempreture i just changed it from 16 to 19

You can set the temretur on 21-23. That what I have done with mine(:
- And mine isn't moving to, but that's because is a whole new colony with 10-20 workers.
And I think also that's because yours doesn't moveing.

Lasius niger can take a while to move, remeber a test tube is a very good home for an ant colony, and they will only move if they have to, ie if they find somewhere damper/drier, lighter/darker etc for there needs

There is a very good caresheet here at the beginners section about Lasius niger (written by miszt). Read that and most of your questions would be solved.
