about five minutes ago i found one of my ants on the table which had escaped from the basin i had put him back in the tube ithink i may f hert her a bit so later on a came back to see my ants befor i went to bed and i noticed that about five other ants were on top of it i am not completely sure they were attacking they were all moving very slow :?:
any1 have any ideas whats going on :roll:

Which species are we talking about ? Are you sure it was a ant from your colony ?
definatley i looked back today they didnt kill it but they where paying alot of attention to it :wink:
they were lasius niger :D
I also saw a strange thing in my Messor barbarus colony the day before yesterday,
a larger worker was pulling the leg of a small minor worker.
I took up the tube with water they were in to have a better look and they stopped (fighting I think) :? .
@jcrusader: Lasius niger are very aggressive, it could be they where surprised by that worker coming from out of there world (they always react very stressful to new thing in there world :) ). So i think there is not much to worry about.
@Antlord: Ants may attack each other is they feel bad. Do they have enough space, food, water ....

They have enough food I think, the entire tube is filled with seeds but maybe they need more insects.
Never hurt to try of course. :wink:
There is always a tube with water in the outworld.
But I think everything is fine now, haven't seen abnormal behaviour lately and there is lots of brood.
