Hi!!!
yesterday arrived my queens!a Messor Barbarus with a lot of eggs and some larvae, lasius niger with two workers and pheidole with three workers! All of them are very good!I'm very happy

I put pheidole in free sand in an acryl box, all around the edge I used vaselina and for a better sicurity I put this box in another bigger than it with some water all around.Do you think that can be a good solution?

Now I cover the test tube and give her some honey and an insect, pheidole are very active and very very tiny! :)
As my lasius did when arrived the firt time, pheidole are picking the sand into the test tube...

ohh they will seal the test tube completly up with the sand.. mine have. as for safe.. yeh i think it is.. however if they manage to get over the vaseline which is doubtfull.. they will most likely drown.

These ants are very nice!!I'm waiting for the firsts warrior! :)

how many times I have to use vaseline??every week, two week, a month?

I don't use Vaseline so i have no answer for that one. :)

The water i would take away. Like Steve said, they probably can not go over the Vaseline but if they do they will drown.

yeah i would not use water either... especially not like this... because the have pretty much no chance to get back into their basin once they fell down....
