Greetings, i was wondering how long my workers in my Lasius n iger colony live for? I have the colony for five weeks now and have found my first fatality. :cry:

Hello Stringboy and welcome.

The workers can live up to 3 year. It could always happen some workers die sooner, don't worry about that, as long as they don't die all in once ore every day one. (if you know what i mean)

Very glad to hear that, the colony had expanded nicely from 5 workers
on arrival to 9 with a few new cocoons, Glad i'm not heading backwards!

These ants grow very fast, at the end of summer you probably have about 100 workers. (if everything works out well) Good luck.
