i found a post where a guy says : my ants eat fresh garden peas (yes, peas - they love them!)
anybody has tried it?
I've fed peas to both Camponotus ligniperda and herculaneus. Both colonies are very small, but they both seemed interested in peas. I don't know whether they like to eat them or drink from them, hopefully when my colonies are larger I will be able to tell how much of it they actually eat.
you gave the peas fresh?
i just give them frozen peas. They only take about 10 minutes to defrost anyway. Take whats left out after 2 days
Peas, strange but possible, most ants eat also fruits so you could try it out.

i got the idea from this site ^^
:o lasius flavus are eating them im going to try some peas for my colony ;)
Just wondering.. but do u actually cook the peas first.. Its just that when they defrost.. they are like well solid..
there are peas in cans.
Are they actually eating from the pea ? Ore are they just drinking from the water that comes from the pea defrosting ?
