1. do u have to keep your ant farm moist for lasius niger.
2. what kind of food do i give to the queen.
3. when the ants come do i put he tube in the basin or farm.

I think I can answer these questions
1. Yes you got to keep the nest a bit moist.
2. Honey I feed my queen but you can also feed them small bugs to to get more protein for queen
3. I advise you not to put the queen ant in the farm or basin but to leave it in the test tube till she has 10 or more workers...

Nice to see you are interesting in keeping ants ant that you start of with a easy species. ;) Looks like your questions are already answered.
Only this, new queens don't need much food, they have enough food in them to survive until first workers are hatch, but it don't harm them if you give them food. :)
Yes it is better to keep them in a tube until you have a few workers.
Read around a bit here, plenty of good information, if you still have questions, just ask. ;)

Go for Lasius Niger for your first colonie! Amazing Ants, very tough and resiliant and very easy to keep! :D

jcrusader Just another little thing for you.. There is an amazing search facility on this site where u can find every1's experience with loads of differnt ants.. There is also a Lasius Niger care sheet you could look at.
At the top of the page you will see SEARCH on the left hand side.. Just roll ya mouse over and then click Forum Search.. Type in what your looking for select the english forum and submit :D
