hi all
i have a block of something called thermalite its not ytong nut very similar and i was wondering if it would be suitable for them.
and i have one quick question what size are the workers and queen of the formica fusca species
thanks sithmaster676
Should do, if it can hold moisture
Kale
where do u get the termalite from? never heard of it? does it retain moisture well?
Alan
Isn't it just a breeze block....
yes basically it is a breeze block but it made from a mixture of things making it lighter :)
it seems to be able to absorb water so i hope it will be ok
if anyone has any suggestions i would love to hear them
and i have one question what are the sizes of the queen and workers of the formica fusca species so i can adjust it if needed

hm. My formica fusca queens are 1,2mm long and workers 7mm.
so the queen is 2mm long and the workers are 7 mm long how wide are the as im trying to get the tunnels right for them:grin:
and do they need a lot of space will my nest shown in the picture be ok for them
Sithmaster676
The queen is 12mm long, thats what Kale meant. How wide are your tunnels at the moment?
at the moment on average my tunnels are about 2 cm wide and around 1cm deep the chambers are the same depth but different sizes
will this be suitable?
Sithmaster676
yes that is fine :]
