Chalky723: PTFE (12. Mär 2007 00:19)

Hi All,

I was just wondering if the PTFE liquid works on silicone? The corners of my small tank have silicone in them & I wouldn't want the ants climbing up!!

Thanks,

Chalky

To my knowledge it doesn't. You will have to cut off the silicon, first.

That is true, chalky, it doesn't work on silicone, so you better take it off like Nuem sad. ;)

I have done so! I'll be standing the tank in some water until I'm sure the PTFE works - otherwise my wife will kill me!!

You need a lid, no matter if the PTFE works or not. The PTFE is just so the ants don't swarm out while you need to open the lid to feed the ants.

That is the best way to prevent them from escaping, i use PTFE and a lid. just to make sure. ;)
