Hello,
I am planning to buy Ants Starter Kit (30x20) farm + arena (center) and start with Lasius niger, sand-loam mixture. However, I am not sure whether to buy antfarm size S (6mm wide) or M (12mm wide) for this species? The description for the farm says that both are possible, but what would you recommend?

With S, I suppose the visibility will be better, but isn't it too small for the queen? And with M, would I be able to see any corridors and chambers, and the queen? I want to be able to see the tunnels, but not to stress the ants.

Hi,

Size S is for the beginn OK. The queen can move into the space.
But for future nests with more workers, it is better to use a size M for Lasius niger.
