when do i put my queens in hibernation and what happends if i dont?
In 6-8 weeks you can start the hibernation. If you see ants active in the garden, you can end the hibernation. 3 months should be enough.
Hm, what happens? There arent a lot reports of it. But its not good. I wouldnt dare to risk my ants.

Put them in a room, where they have nearly the same conditions as outside and look, what they are doing.
