Scorpy42: adding water to ant farm (8. Sep 2014 18:59)

Hi

Last month I joined the world of Ant Keeping by treating myself to an Ants Starter Kit XL - 30x20 and a Camponotus ligniperdus queen with 10 workers.

I set up the ant farm with the granules and sand/loom on top all moist, and drainage tube.

After staying in their test tube for a few weeks in the ant basin, last week they finally decided to dig in the sand/loom in the ant farm and moved there, yesterday I thought to add water to the farm via the drainage tube to keep the farm moist, but today when I went to check on the ants I gave found out they have moved out of the farm and now have nested in the connecting tube between the farm and basin,

Did I over water the farm and ruin the nest?, if so do I only need to re moist the sand once and month or so? What's the best method?

Any help will be most grateful

Thanks :)
