Formica fusca: Camponotus ligniperdus (16. Jun 2013 11:03)

Hi
How cold resistens are Camponotus ligniperdus and how cold is the lowest celsius that they can hibernate they live in and under the rotten tree so they are a bit cold resistens i just wont to now what the lowest celsius they can hibernate in. :D

Ameisenfreund: Re: Camponotus ligniperdus (16. Jun 2013 19:49)

The lowest temperature is 5°. They can hibernate up to 5°. If the temperatur is lower, they would die.

I don’t believe the 5°C. Please read this, Ameisenfreund:

They easily stand minus 20°C.

What is the ruckus here? Why just dont you use google translator and let the page get translated directly to danish? http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=da&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ameisenwiki.de%2Findex.php%2F%22Bio%22-Koloniegr%C3%BCndung_von_Camponotus_herculeanus
This could not be more simple.
Note: this is only pointing out the natural habitat of the ant species. This is the general respond to this kind of questions and does not apply to artificial constructions.
