luke8987: Advise / input needed, plaster nest for Lasius niger (27. Sep 2012 13:24)

Hi all, first time ant keeper here and i would like your advise and input on the plaster nest I built.

Nest can be sen here
http://imgur.com/Uob9s

Hole at the bottom where the purple black out cars is where the test tube is fitted, moving up there is a tube to the outside currently being used to get some moisture down to the lower half of the nest.

Above that is another tube leading out in to the jar which is a stand in until i can build / buy a better foraging area, currently im leaving water & food in this jar.

There is an internal water trench which can be filled through a hole in the top at the top of the plaster cast, this appears to disperse the water across the width of the nest.

question for thos more experienced, can you see anything horribly wrong or anything I could change/ or improve? i have a concrete block nest in the works if this dosnt work out but im unsure as to weather i picked up the correct block.
