Ginkyo: How often should I water the nest? (30. Okt 2010 23:45)

Hi everyone,

I've got a new colony of Myrmica rubra. They've moved into the farm (alpha ant beginner set a) and they've been really busy digging tunnels and mounding up the sand/loam mix on top. My question is, how often should I water the upright part of the formicarium through the drainage tube? I know that they like it very moist, but tonight when I put a pipette-full of water down there they seemed to go crazy and lots of workers came out of the entrance hole they've made. I don't want to flood the nest and kill them, obviously. :

I'm very sorry if this is a stupid question, but I really want my colony to do well. Please forgive me if the answer is obvious, but I don't know. Can someone give me some pointers - every week, every couple of days, what :?

Thankyou very much! :)

It depends on how worm your room or set up is? Try to keep the sand from drying out so a few drops every week or 2 should probly do
