Basically, I caught my lasius niger queen a few days ago. I put her in a red filter cylinder with one side with moist cotton and one side with dry cotton to bung up the other side. I've checked on her regularly and basically she hasn't laid any eggs at all and seems to stay in one place a lot. Should i be worried?
Your error might lie in checking on her regularly. It's better to basically forget about her for a while, just make sure she has enough water. Aslong as she has clean water and privacy she'll do her thing if she's fertilized.
