im making my first formicarium
that´s a tupperware(15X14X14(CXLXA)cm) in plaster

it has 6 galleries and 2 entraces

i was thinking in one of this 2 species:
Lasus Niger
or
Messor barbarus

You have build your formicarium self and the Idea is good.
But this is to small. Lasius niger and Messor need a large place.
I think, 3month ago and your box is complete full.
Pls use a larger box.

I have a Pheidole colony and my Arena is L/W/H 28x35x29cm and my Farm is 88x25x1cm.
Pheidole is one, from the smallest ants.

You can start with this box but you need very fast a second box.

Sry for my english. Far far away is my schooltime.

i have another box (24X14X16cm ) and if i make an out world is big enought for a a colony of messor barbarus?

tha nest willhave galleries in 3 fronts (24X16cm) (14X16cm) (14X16cm) like this pic:
