abz uk ants: Myrmica queen in trouble (23. Apr 2010 15:28)

I caught a colony of Myrmica on the weekend and I have just looked at her nest today and the queen is on her back but over the last couple of days the workers are decreasing from 27 to about 18. I really need help fast what do i do to save this colony?

myrmica rubra can have multiple queens so you could try to get another queen and see if the queen gets adopted by the remaining workers.

Where can I get a new queen from and by the way the queen died.

ebay.... sometimes see colonys selling on there... i would say id give you one like... but its a bit hard to get inside a sealed ytong...

Does ebay uk allow selling of living animals? The german ebay doesn't
