Hi,
Today in the afternoon I saw that Prenolepis imparis was preparing for a mating flight. THere were winged males and a few females coming out of the nest, but none were flying. When it became later in the evening, it became cooler, and the winged ants went back in their nests without flying!!( :( ) Has anyone ever seen this happen before? ( I'm not too worried though... they will probably fly tomorrow :D )
That is a normal behavior. The come and check if the weather is good to fligh out (something like that :) ) and if its not they waith until the day after or so.
Hi!
I checked the day after(today), and they were getting ready again, thena cold front came through!!!!! :( Well , I'll just keep checking every day i guess...
