First thing you need is a nest area and an out world. You can use a ytong for the nest and a box for the out world (to feed your ants in).
The ants will arrive in a tube so you can also put the tube into the out world.
Lasius niger are the best species to start with. Easy to keep and they adjust pretty quick.
The place is not so importent, the temperature and humidity are. If you decide to keep Lasius niger you can put them in your living room. In summer they need about 20-25°c in winter 5-10°c. Humidity should be fine, they are easy to keep like i told you. ;)
Make sure you read the caresheet. Lots of good information on it for starters.

You can buy ytong (almost) everywhere. You need to make the rooms yourself in the ytong but that is easy. (and it saves you a lot of money) ;)
