UneXisted: honey water vs sugar water (29. Nov 2009 17:50)

Is there any advantage of feeding honey water, instead of sugar water? Ive red some stories of queens dying after giving honey water? Does it matter which fluid you give?

The way I see it, the difference would be that honey has more vitamins and stuff like that, but with honey, you have to keep your eyes on what's in the honey, like chemicals and so on.

I personally vary between sugarwater and honeywater mostly for the sake of variety.

Most of the time i use the stuff you can buy here at antstore shop. :)

I use biological ECO honey and they really like it. I think that honey is better because of the variety of sugars it contains.
Even in normal supermarkets honey has no chemicals in it, check to be sure but even the most cheap honey is without chemicals.

Another thing to mention is that honeywater tends to mold if you leave it in too long, sugarwater does not. (Atleast hasn't for me.)

Yes my honeywater starts to mold after 4-5 days. I have no experience with sugar water...
