charles17: How bad is it to move a new queen? (19. Aug 2009 11:28)

I recently got some ants (a queen and some larvae) in a less than ideal setup- in a little plastic tube (almost like those plastic casings for film) with a bit of wet paper towels for moisture. I don't know when it'll dry out. They're in the dark in a box right now, but I was wondering whether or not it is advisable to put them in the more normal setup of a tube with water behind some cotton? Thanks.

Yep, do it. Just be careful.

Ive had the same thing.. usualy il get a container like an old ice cream tub and put both the new test tube and the small thing they came in inside then wait for the ants to move on there own.
